MwGh case 0119
Background: This basement home was built in 1977 and background searches show no significant events which should lead to paranormal activity (deaths in the home or nearby or traumatic experiences on the property). The home was well-kept and basement was flooded on 12/26/2015 but no mold issues were reported and repairs were underway.
Observations: During our walk-through with the homeowners, investigators heard various knocking sounds throughout the home and even once heard a vocal sound. This was pre-investigation and was not captured by audio or video equipment
Investigation: 4 video cameras were used, 3 upstairs, one in basement; 8 audio recorders were used with 5 upstairs, 3 in basement. The home demonstrated exceptional EMF insulation with no above normal readings even around major appliances. 2 EMF detectors were used the scan the entire home and an infrared laser grid was used in upstairs area (main living room/hallway)
Evidence: With 2 investigators upstairs (Dustin and John) and 2 investigators downstairs (Chris and Ty) footsteps were heard crossing the house (from the downstairs area) in the area that would be the hallway upstairs. Chris and Ty did a check to make sure no one was moving and Dustin and John stated that they were standing still but also heard the footsteps; the recorder which captured this audio was in the basement. The audio of the footsteps can be heard below.
About 45 minutes later, Chris and Ty were conducting an EVP session in the basement bedroom with the recorder sitting outside the room on the covered pool table. At around :26 you will hear what sounds like a growl sound. We attempted to debunk this by exploring plumbing sounds to no avail.
While conducting an EVP session again in the basement, Chris asks “who’s the person in the cowboy hat?” referring to claims made by the occupants of the basement. At around :26 you will hear a vocal sound which we have yet to be able to decipher, but having shared this with other groups and having done our own analysis, have determined that this is a vocal response which was partly heard by the naked ear. Right after the audio you will hear Ty click on his flashlight as he thought he heard a response. Hear this audio below.
Conclusions: We determined that there is definitely at least one presence in the home, likely others who didn’t make an appearance during our investigation. With no traumatic reason for the presence of the entity/entities, it’s difficult to determine the reasoning for the activity. We will be in contact to discuss what is commonly referred to as “poltergeist” activity as a possible probable cause where paranormal activity manifests as a result of prolonged exposure to negative personalities or negative events. But we will consider this case open for possible follow-up investigations for more information.
